Discover BCD Vineyard in the Russian River Valley

Do you like a cool glass of Chardonnay in the morning? Pinot Noir at night? Or maybe a Zinfandel, or a Syrah even.

Then Balletto’s BCD Vineyard is the right place for you!

This 16-year old vineyard is one of Balletto’s prized lands, home to vines cultivated for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and Syrah wines. It’s a gem amongst Balletto’s single vineyards and easily the best place to visit in the fall. The reddening leaves at BCD are perhaps one of the most beautiful sights in the Russian River Valley.

The land of BCD Vineyard is located on the rolling hills near the coastal mountain range, offering a diverse terrain perfect for viticulture. This position also causes vineyards to have drastically changing temperatures throughout the day. In the morning, the cold, coastal fogs envelops the vines before dissipating in the evening and causing a sharp increase in temperature. These quickly shifting temperatures give BCD vines the best of both worlds in terms of climate.

Not to mention the soil of BCD, a unique cross between silty and sandy loam soil that’s characteristic of the Russian River Valley. This type of soil is known for its excellent drainage properties, which is beneficial for grapevines as it encourages them to develop deep root systems. This helps the vines access the nutrients and water they need, while also stressing them just enough to produce high-quality grapes. Plus this particular sandy-loam soil composition holds just enough water to ripen the grapes, yet drains enough to keep from causing rot from the abundance of moisture from the morning dew. Overall, BCD soil provides ideal growing conditions.

BCD Vineyard is not just a part of Balletto Vineyards; it's a unique site with its own story to tell.

Whether you're a wine enthusiast or a casual sipper, the wines from BCD Vineyard offer a journey into the heart of the Russian River Valley's distinctive terroir.
